PDO
Thread Lift

Thread lift is an innovative, non-surgical procedure designed to address skin laxity on the face and body. Specially designed absorbable PDO threads create a supportive mesh beneath the skin, effectively lifting and tightening the area with complete safety. A key advantage of PDO threads is that they naturally break down within a few months, without causing granulomas or other unwanted reactions.

Thread lifting is suitable for mild skin laxity in select cases, though it does not replace a surgical facelift. It is often combined with treatments such as hyaluronic acid fillers, Botox, and mesotherapy, providing an effective alternative for individuals who wish to avoid surgery.

The Procedure

The treatment is performed in-office under local anaesthesia and typically takes around 30 to 45 minutes. The threads are inserted beneath the skin using fine needles, forming an internal support structure. Depending on the type of threads used, results may be visible immediately or develop gradually over the following months. Some bruising and skin irritation may occur post-treatment, but these effects usually resolve within a few days.

About the Threads

PDO threads create a supportive mesh that improves skin texture and tightens the skin by stimulating collagen production. They are suitable for treating both face and body areas. The effects typically last several months, and repeated sessions are required in order to maintain the results.

COG-PDO threads feature microscopic barbs that allow for an immediate lifting effect. These are primarily used to treat mild skin laxity in areas such as the nasolabial folds and jawline. While the lifting effect is noticeable straight away, it continues to improve over the first two to three months as collagen production increases. Mild swelling and bruising may occur post-treatment but usually subside within a week.

Results improve gradually over two to three months as the body naturally produces collagen. The longevity of the outcome varies between six months and 18 months, depending on the type of threads used and individual skin response.

Recovery is relatively quick, with patients resuming daily activities immediately after PDO thread placement and within a few days following the use of surgical threads. Minor swelling or bruising may appear but generally resolves within a few days.

DO YOU HAVE QUESTIONS?

What You Need to Know

Yes, thread lifting can be combined with Botox, hyaluronic acid fillers and mesotherapy for enhanced results.

Results last between six months and 18 months, depending on the type of threads and individual skin quality.

Mild swelling, redness, or bruising may occur but generally subsides within a few days.

The treatment is performed under local anaesthesia, making discomfort minimal.

The number of threads needed depends on the treatment area and the degree of skin laxity. PDO threads require multiple fine threads, while COG-PDO lifting threads typically involve placing three to four per area. The cost is determined based on the type and quantity of threads used.
