Wrinkles
Botox is the most popular cosmetic treatment worldwide for reducing expression lines. Its widespread use is due to its ease of application and impressive results. Botulinum toxin type A (Botox®, Dysport®) temporarily reduces muscle activity in the face, preventing the formation of dynamic wrinkles and creating a more refreshed and youthful appearance. The treatment is suitable for both men and women.

The Procedure
The treatment is quick and straightforward. First, the areas requiring treatment are assessed, and muscle activity is evaluated to determine the exact injection points. Botox is then injected using ultra-fine needles, making the procedure virtually painless. After the treatment, mild redness may occur, which typically subsides within 1–2 hours. In some cases, minor bruising may develop, but this usually resolves within 2–3 days and can be easily concealed with makeup.
About the treatment
How to Prepare for Treatment
- Avoid taking medications such as aspirin and ibuprofen before treatment, as these can increase the risk of bruising.
- Refrain from consuming alcohol for at least 24 hours prior to treatment.
Results
Botox starts to take effect within 1–2 days, while full results become visible after two weeks. A follow-up appointment may be arranged to assess the outcome and perform a minor top-up if needed. The effects of Botox typically last between 4 and 6 months.
Post-Treatment Advice
- Avoid exposing your face to excessive heat (e.g. saunas, hot showers) for 48 hours.
- Do not lie down or bend forward for the first 4 hours after treatment.
- Refrain from touching or massaging the treated areas for the first few hours.
- Avoid intense physical activity for 24–48 hours.
Recovery
You can return to your daily activities immediately after treatment. Any mild redness or swelling usually disappears within a few hours to a couple of days.
